The Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) days ago has indicated that over 740 thousand people in the country are economically inactive, who are not at work and currently are not registered in any of the state offices that require jobs. Of the data belonging to the first quarter of 2022, the most disturbing remains the number of 100,000 of them between 15 and 24 years of age, which, in addition to being unemployed, are not even at school and attend professional training.
AKS data shows there are over 1.2 million working-age citizens, over 380 thousand are employed, over 77 thousand are unemployed, and over 750 thousand are economically inactive.
From the business community, they say large-scale citizens are not registered to look for jobs because these institutions have not managed to respond to their demands, while unlike other countries, neither do they have any financial support during the working wait.
Speaking of the number of about 100,000 young people, head of the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK), Ilir Berisha tells Kosovo that the same ones are maintained by the family and have made no demands to lock on the labour market.
“According to methodology, ASK publishes on a three-month regular basis the results of the labour force survey, and the population's rating by the general population is considered to be the one that does not enter the labor force contingent or working men who are between the ages of 0 and the age of 15 and over 65. When this is seen, inactive persons and non-employees are considered in Kosovo that during the first quarter of 2022 was over 740 thousand people, of which are 98 thousand and 271 young people.”, Berisha points out.
Berisha, until listing some of the factors affecting that a large part of young people are out of work, school and training, admits that the number of people who do not look for jobs is increasing.
The director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, estimates that the role of troops offering employment opportunities has waned.
Zeka says that despite having a large demand for workers in the private sector, there is a vacuum of the workforce.
The high figure of passive youth is considered a risk to the country, says the chairman of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, At and Hykoki.
Hykoli says institutions must have a serious approach to this phenomenon.
Among other things, Hycol adds that BSPK is constantly in touch with employees and is trying to provide basic conditions for young people to want to serve this country.
We remember that, months ago, the government created the <x0 platform. Superpuda” meaning a guaranteed payment from the state of 264 euros gross for 6 months, where companies open the announcements and young people apply. / Kp
