The candidate of the Democratic Party of Kosovo for Zubin Potok, Izmir Zeqiri, has called on all citizens to exercise their right to vote. He has said that northern Serbs are being unable to do so, while the same are willing to participate in this election process.
Zubin Potok's presidential candidate after voting at the polling centre said the elections are going smoothly.
Zeqiri added that northern Serbs are being pressured by the Serbian state, even though the same are willing to participate in these elections.
I believe that the influx of citizens to this centre will be from now on. As for Serbs, I don't know if there are any voters, the pressure being put on them by the Serbian state is known. We've been waiting and waiting for them to... I consider them being committed a crime with that narrowness of their lives, because I'm probably very confident that a lot of them would come out if they were free. Since it was those initial attacks, property, cars. And they're under some kind of pressure, either they have to obey those groups that keep them under pressure. But I believe they have to come out and I wish they could come up in the election”, he added.
Candidate of The PDK for chairman of Zubin Potok has been asked even if the terms are, in case the mayor is elected, to take office.
In the extraordinary elections for mayor of four municipalities in the country's north, a total of 45 thousand and 95 citizens are eligible to vote, out of which 6 thousand and 661 vote in Zubin Potok's municipality. /Kosovo pres/
