Vuciq: Serbia is ready for compromise, but Kurti wants Association

Despite the recent meeting in Brussels having granted reconciliation for the Franco-German plan, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vuciq continues to reiterate his position that Serbia will reconcile with Kosovo's membership in the United Nations. These statements by the head of the Serbian state, which contradicts Article 4 of the Franco-German proposal, have been made in an interview on television “Tv Happy”, saying Serbia is ready for many compromises, however, according to him “Albanians will do nothing”.
Serbia will agree to Kosovo's entry into the UN and will have recognition of Kosovo. We are willing to make a lot of compromises, but Albanians will do nothing. Serbia is a serious party and plays fer”, the head of the Serbian state said on Thursday evening.
He has also commented on Miroslav Lajcak's visit to Pristina and the meeting the Slovak emissary has had with Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Vuciq, in this interview, has said he is almost certain that Prime Minister Albin Kurti's will create the Association of Serb-based municipalities.
I'm almost sure Kurt doesn't want to create Association. And we have nothing against removing the visa regime. Serbia has nothing against it, but the West is willing to pressure Kurti “, Vucic has said.
He has said further that the Serbian people should understand even the fact that Serbia is surrounded by NATO and that there is no space to make moves.
Speaking of the Franco-German proposal, Vucic has said it was written in Western powers and that Serbia “will sign neither chapter nor surrender”.
The “people in Serbia should know that none of the heads of state wrote any plans. It was written by Western powers from other states, Germany France. I know each detail and we need dialogue, but there will be chapter neither surrender, there will be recognition of Kosovo”, Vuciq stressed.
Vuciq in this interview has also talked about opposition reactions in Serbia to the Franco-German plan. In his view, it is right for people to be disturbed because they hear a lot.
But they must not be afraid because I don't mind signing any of Serbia's chapter. I brought the plan to the Assembly and I know how bad it is”, the Serbian president has said.
He has yet said that the series should make an effort to give a chance for reconciliation with Kosovo, but adds that “is certain of such a thing, knowing who is on the other side”.
Vucic in this interview has said that Kosovo's entry into the United Nations depends solely on Serbia, since no one will object if Serbia says “po”, but adds that Serbia rejects that.
He has further added that there are two problems ahead of him -- one Kosovo and not imposing sanctions against Russia.
Otherwise, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has indicated willing to sign the Franco-German plan since the first meeting in Brussels. Kurti has said that something like that has been able to do Serbia's president. There will be a meeting next March 18th in Ohrid between the two IDs.
However, the EU has made it known that the parties should also agree on the Impulation Annex for the agreement to become legally binding.
Miroslav Lajcak, meanwhile, has started preparations for the meeting. Since yesterday, he has been staying in Pristina where he has discussed with the heads of state for dialogue and the Impulation Annex. For meeting with Kurti, Lajcak has said he has fulfilled his expectations and that he now knows very well what Kosovo's demands are. Early next week, Lajcak with the same goal will travel towards Belgrade.
