Similarly, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has announced that in co-operation with the War Crimes Investigation Unit under the Kosovo Police, the defendant with the initials, the Serbian Nationality, has arrested today. The defendant Z.A., allegedly during the war period in Kosovo, specifically in March 1999, at the police station in Kamenica in the quality of the official person and in co-ordination with other members of the Serbian police, informed and armed, had initially beaten the injured with initials B. M, with rubber bars and kicks, tormenting him inhumanally, tortured and causing severe injuries, trauma and health consequences, and seriously living for an hour and a half, actions sanctioned according to local laws, customs of war and the Geneva International Convention and additional protocols.
The trial of the preliminary procedure, the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo's request for the appointment of the detention measure against indictee Mr.A, has approved it as based and has been assigned the measure of detention in length of 1 (a) month. According to the judge's assessment of the preliminary procedure stand the legal reasons for the detention assignment, in the sense of Article 184 paragraph 1 under paragraph 1.1 and under paragraph 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 and under paragraph 1.3 of the KPPRK”, the Court's announcement states.

Pristina, 08 March 2023 The Special Department has ruled on the request of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo for the appointment of custody in the investigative criminal case of the defendant, Mr. A, suspected of war crimes against the civilian population by Article 142 concerning Article 22 of RSFJ Penal Law.
The prosecutor of the preliminary procedure's request for the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo's appointment of the detention measure against indictees Z.A has approved it as based and the same has been assigned the detention measure in length of 1 (a) month.
According to the judge's assessment of the preliminary procedure, there are legal reasons for the detention assignment, in the sense of Article 184 paragraph 1 under paragraph 1.1 and under paragraph 1.2.1 and 1.2.2 and under paragraph 1.3 of the KPRK.
Against this act, disgruntled parties have the right to complaint at the Court of Appeals, through the Constitutional Court in Pristina.
