Asteroid, called 2023 DW, currently tops “risk list” for Earth impact. This asteroid was first seen on February 28th and has the potential to crash on Earth on February 14, 2046, or in the years ahead until 2051, Skynews reports, Klonkosova follows. tv
Astronomer Piero Sicoli presented his calculations for the asteroid trajector, assessing there is a chance of 1 in 400 for the asteroid to hit Earth.
If it happens, his calculations, based on what is currently known for the asteroid, suggest he could crash between the Indian Ocean and the eastern coast of the US.
NASA is working on launching telescope “Surveyor” in 2028, which will be the first space telescope specially designed to hunt asteroids and comets that could be possible dangers to Earth.
