Konjufca meets with Escobar: No Association to mar Kosovo's sovereignty and independence

Konjufca has indicated that with Escobar they have discussed current political developments in the country and the region, the process of dialogue and the Ohrid Agreement, as well as further steps towards the full normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

Today, within the framework of my official visit to the United States, accompanied by Ambassador to the Republic of Kosovo in Washington DC, Ilir Dugolli and Chief of Staff, Ilir Krkelli, met Deputy Secretary of the United States of America simultaneously Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Mr. Gabriel Escobar.

At the containment meeting with Mr. Escobar discussed current political developments in the country and the region, the process of dialogue and the Ohrid Agreement, as well as further steps for the full normalisation of relations between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

We reaffirmed the stance of the state of Kosovo, but also guaranteeing the State Department, that no association or any other mechanism can be formed that violates the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo.

We share the same view of continuing to work together for the joint agenda of Kosovo membership in Euro-Atlantic structures and international organisations, as well as for advancing bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America.
