There is no evidence that the author of the massacre is on the run and may be among the dead, Bild reports, citing police sources. Police said they found a dead man at the scene, believed to be the assailant.
Motives Unknown
Still no known motive for the attack. An unidentified person still shot at least seven people to death and injured others in the Hamburg church of Jehovah's Witnesses. Police have received the indictment around 21:15.
The officers who entered found people who “were seriously injured by firearms and some were killed”, said Holgen Vehrei, a police spokesman.
The “polians have heard one shot from the upper part of the palace and have climbed up where they found another person. Right now we have no record of the author escaping”, he added.
Similarly, police have called on residents through the alarm app to take refuge and not leave their homes as long as the author or authors are on the run. “Search refuge as soon as possible”, the message reads.
At the same time, citizens are appealed not to spread false news through social networks. The location of the attack is surrounded by police and special units are already there.
