The heart is one of the most important organs in the human body. Physical inactivity, bad habits, such as fatty foods, alcohol, and cigarettes, are very damaging to this organ. Hence, it seems that caring for him is not always easy. However, as in most cases when it comes to health, some minor customs can make a big difference.
A study by Italian scientists, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, examined the effects of hot peppers at the risk of death because of a heart attack. This study included 22800 subjects, including men and women. Data on their state of health was analyzed between 2005 and 2015.
After that, their eating habits were examined, in which the authors of the study came to an interesting conclusion. They found that people who consumed peppers at least four times a week had 40 percent less risk of dying from a heart attack than people who did not consume it.
In addition, it was shown that people who regularly consumed this food had 60 percent lower risk of death from stroke than did people who did not consume it regularly. It is not yet known exactly why hot peppers have a positive effect on heart health, but some experts believe that the ingredient that gives the peppers their capaicin heat may be responsible for it.
