Serwer: I don't see how Kosovo would do the Association without getting prior recognition “de facto”

Thus the American professor and Balkan political affairs expert Daniel Serer assess, in a response to Iseder, asked how you see the issue of Association in talks to be held at the Brussels Summit on February 27th in Brussels.

International pressure is heavy, and especially this pressure is burdening Kosovo, says Professor Serer. In his judgment, however, leaders have no readiness for an agreement.

It was Slovak mediator Miroslav Lajcak, who said he expects the parties to accept the European proposal Monday, and that with it officially accepted, “would become [legally] binding for both sides”.

In an interview for the Serbian news agency “Tanjug”, Lajcak said that “for all is clear that he is not told No. The EU and the United States” regarding the European-American plan.

“Refusing the normalisation plan would mean rejecting normalisation [...] Now I don't even want to talk about what would be the negative consequences of”, Lajcak said, until he added he expects Monday to pave the way for a deal.

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said that on February 27th, he expects the issue of association to be of primary importance, “or: thank you, that's it”.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, on the other hand, has placed the issue of Association to “out of conditions”, of which he says it could be implemented only after recognition by Serbia and under the European plan, but by no means precede it. /Insider
