But yesterday the Russian Ministry of Commerce said it had taken steps towards creating the production of genetic forms of drugs within the country.
The US, Great Britain and the EU and other Ukrainian supporters have imposed significant sanctions on Russia, but these do not include drugs and medical equipment.
Sildenfil, the active ingredient in Viagra, is not produced in Russia, but its ministry of commerce said Russian firms have the technological potential” to produce it, with 36 registration certificates handed down to do so. /aleu/
