Russian airport Pulkovo in St. Petersburg temporarily suspended all flights Tuesday, the government said, amid unconfirmed Russian media reports of an unidentified object as a threat to the city.
St. Petersburg suspended all flights to the airport by noon.
State News Agency T The ASS said that air space within a 200km radius of Pulkovo was closed until 1:20 local time.
An unconfirmed media report from the Russian online newspaper Base said an unidentified object was seen in the sky and that fighter planes were sent to investigate the case.
