Israel has discovered what it says is the largest tunnel its troops have ever discovered, as its army works to expose and destroy the underground town of the Hamas militants known as the “Metro of Gaza”.
According to the foreign media, it records Telegrafi, Israeli soldiers have accurately sought to locate any entry into any passage site on the spider's spiderry of tunnels and make them useless.
The network was allegedly useful to Hamas in organising the October 7th attacks, which saw his fighters attack the Israeli border and kill 1,200 people, and has been used as a shelter for militants and their weapons.
Israeli Defence Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari has said it is about the tunnel, which is wide enough to introduce a car and extend over 2.5 miles (4 km).
Hagari told reporters that only this tunnel system cost $5m, adding that it had been a project led by Mohammad Sinwar, the brother and right arm of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, and the commander of Hamas Battalion Khan Younis.
