Osmani meets with Portuguese counterpart, talk about dialogue, 24 September attack

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is staying in Lisbon, Portugal, where she is hosted by counterpart Marcelo Rebello de Soussa.
Her visit coincides with the 15th anniversary of the recognition of Kosovo by Portugal and the connection of diplomatic relations between the two states.
Osmani in a post in “X” has thanked the Portuguese president for his warm welcome.
“This year as our countries mark the 15th anniversary of diplomatic relations, we reaffirm our common commitment to further strengthen our ties and co-operation”, Osmani wrote.
In reporting to media from the President's Office, Osmani said he has stressed that he sees Portugal as a friendly state within the European Union and beyond, so he hopes to further Kosovo's membership in international organisations.
The president in this context has thanked Portugal for support in the visa liberalisation process and for membership in the Council of Europe, as well as for showing hope that Portugal will also support granting EU candidate status to our Republic”, the report said.
Part of the meeting was dedicated to recent political and security developments in Kosovo.
Osmani briefed counterpart De Soussa and the recent developments in the country, as well as on the act of aggression by Serbia against the Republic of Kosovo on September 24th, with crérast, highlighted the importance of bringing the Serbian paramilitary group to justice in Kosovo and addressing Serbia's responsibility in destabilizing Kosovo and the region.
The president also argued that in the dialogue process with Serbia, Kosovo is a constructive party and that completing this process through mutual recognition is the only way to bring lasting peace to the region. At this meeting, President Osmani and President De Soussa have also discussed possibilities for deepening co-operation in the area of mutual interest”, the report says.
Osmani has travelled yesterday to Portugal, where he will be speaker at Web Summi, which is considered the world's top technology event.
