Havenier: EU billion aid questioned if there is no progress between Kosovo and Serbia

US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, in an interview with Atlantic Council, has also been asked whether there will be consequences if Kosovo and Serbia continue to delay even more and make no progress in implementing agreements and obligations. Havenier said there would be loss of opportunity, [...]
Hovenier said there would be losses of opportunity, recalling that Scholz, Macron and Melon in their common stand spoke of consequences without specifying them, since they refused to appear a threat.
“If you read Scholz's attitude, Maron and Mellon speak of his priorities if he moves forward and consequences if it doesn't happen. That's where they were specified, because we didn't want them to look like threats to”, Havener said.
He has added that from the very implementation of the agreements there are progresses, citing the agreement's points, Express reports.
The American ambassador also mentioned the European Union's <x0-based Growth Plan” for the Western Balkan region. He has stressed that it is about some 6 billion euros planned to invest in the region, and that the profit from it will be possible if the normalisation process moves forward, but it will be questioned if there is progress.
“Ursula Von Der Lyen was just in the region to talk about “Growth Plan” for investing about 6 billion euros in the region for sustainable support. All this is possible until normalisation moves forward, but all of this is questioned if there is a impasse. Our advice to Kosovo is not to allow the” stagnation, Ambassador Havenier has been posted.
