Deday to Special Court: State founder Rugova, Thaci wrapped up independence process

The former ambassador of Kosovo, in northern Macedonia, is witnessing at the Special Court in The Hague.

Asked what he thinks of former President Ibrahim Rugova, he said he was the founder of the state of Kosovo, while the other former president, according to him, wrapped up the process of independence.

“President Rugova is the founder of the state of Kosovo, while leader Hashim Thaci has completed the Kosovo independence process”, he said.

Dedaj was asked about his political career over the years, he responded by saying that from his last position, that of ambassador to northern Macedonia, he left the Kosovo president, Vjosa Osmani, who, according to him, placed her husband,don Sadriun in that position.

Dedaj stressed that Serbia's regime has killed 12 family members, among them two minors.

Asked whether there were tensions with Kosovo institutions of the 1990s and KLA, he said there were only non-coordination and sometimes misunderstandings.

“There has been non-coordination, non-information, I speak of political leadership in Pristina, they have been fearful and disturbed by the KLA show, which in fact made Kosovo freedom a reality. There have been individuals within parties who have made densignations against KLA, I personally wanted to go to those areas.”, he said.
