German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said they are co-operating with Egypt to send aid to Gaza “as soon as possible”.
He said people in Gaza would not leave him alone.
“We are co-operating with Egypt to send humanitarian aid to Gaza as soon as possible. Residents there need water, food and medicine. We will not leave them alone. The German federal government will continue humanitarian activity in Gaza”, wrote Scholz in Arabic in his official X profile.

After staying in Tirana for the Berlin Process, Scholz had gone to Israel yesterday, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Chancellor went there to express his solidarity with the country after Hamas' terrorist attack and to reduce tensions in the region, as well as improve humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
Scholz had issued a warning to Iran and Hezbollah not to intervene in the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
“would be a serious, unforgivable error”, the Chancellor said during press statements with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Tel Aviv. Scholz also stressed that Israel's security was an integral part of German state policy and that the country had the right to defend against Hamas.
But, he also said Netanyah's army should respect international humanitarian law when it avenges Hamas.
“Germania and Israel are united by the fact that they are democratic constitutional states. Our actions are based on law and order, even in extreme situations”, the Chancellor told reporters. He said he spoke to Netanyah “about ways to send humanitarian aid to people in Gaza as soon as possible”.
On the other hand, the Israeli prime minister reminded the German leader of Nazi massacres such as those in Baba Yar in Ukraine in 1941. Hamas' last bloody attack, Netanyahu said, had been one of the worst “crimes committed against Jews since the Holocaust”.
He added: “Hamas are the new Nazis”.
After Israel, Scholz travelled to Egypt to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Assi on Wednesday. During the departure, Scholz's plane had to be evacuated.
