Consumer prices in Kosovo are starting to rise again. Even inflation has reached over 4 percent, in September 2023, compared with the same month last year.
Consumer prices are higher at an average of 4.2 percent in September 2023, compared to last September (2022).
So it was announced today by the Kosovo Statistics Agency, which has published the harmonised Consumer Awards index (IHÇK) for September 2023.
According to a media report by the AKS, it became known that monthly inflation measured by the harmonised consumer price index was 0.9% in September 2023, while the annual inflation rate measured in September 2023 with September 2022 was 4.2 per cent.
The overall harmonised consumption prices “is higher at an average of 4.2 percent in September 2023, compared to September 2022”.
The agency has indicated that with the rise of consumer prices, which it has divided into several groups.
“in this period are companies and subgroups of COICOP: vegetables (25.4 percent); trees (14.1 percent); goods and household maintenance services (11.0 percent); food products (9.6 percent); sugar, jam, honey, chocolate, and candy (9.3 percent); things and other recreative equipment, gardens and berries (7.4 percent); non-alcoholic liquor (7.6 percent); alcohol, tobacco (6.6 per cent); well quality and housing (0.5 percent); personal services; (9 percent) transport, gardens and berries), and flour (7.4 percent; and factories; and (4.7 percent; and other foods; and (40 percent;); and other fuel; and Fisiphery (s); (s); (s); (a percent); sancreancremes; and sancreancers; (s; (s; (s); and locals; (s),).
As it says in the announcement, price cuts are seen in COICOP groups and subgroups: oils and fats (12.7 percent) and use of personal transport equipment (-1.1 percent), with a common impact of these subgroups of (-0.2 percent) on IHCH.
The overall harmonised consumer prices index is higher at an average of 0.9 percent in September 2023, compared to September 2023.
This is primarily explained with the rise in consumer prices of COICOPI: solid fuels, firewood, diapers, etc. (6.4 percent); transport (2.9 percent); shelter, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (1.8 percent); bread and cereal (1.7 percent), with a combined impact of these subgroups 1,0 percent in IHCH”.
In the meantime, prices drop in COICOP groups and subgroups: flight tickets (-7.0 percent) and transportation services (-3.7 percent) with a common impact of these subgroups (-0.1 percent) on IHCH.
