The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted after the decision on the provisional dismissal of five employees in Trepca, who have been on strike for eight days.

KMDLNj strongly condemns the Trepca company's management decision as an attempt to choke and unable to engage in unionist action through intimidation of those who are doing strike

KMDLNj has called on Kosovo Assembly deputies to react more loud and more strongly to this strike.

Full response:

THE GREVICE RELIGIONS FROM PUN, GREATIVE CENTURY E MAN!

Today is the eighth day of Trepca miners' strike because Trepca company management has not met their demands. During the entire time when dozens of miners have sought medical assistance because of deteriorating health, the Kosovo government has shown no interest in overcoming this situation as if neither the opposition has taken any parliamentary action to raise this issue as priority so long ago that miners work in extremely difficult conditions, without health and vital security. irresponsible MPs, instead of seeking accountability from the Kosovo government, which is also their mandate, do the opposite; design the opinion that miners have very high incomes, so they have no reason to strike. In the meantime Trepca's (political) management goes beyond verbal threats by removing (usually) five employees among whom is the mayor and vice president of the union, blaming them for organising the strike. The same management in an effort to criminalise a union activity and realising a human right such as the strike, job exemptees and strikers accuse them of doing illegal strike by not announcing the strike, are damaging Trepca's material company and endangering constitutional order. The same management forgets or does not want to remember that today's position in those posts, protests and strikes did not warn them about the police, but about the media. The Trepca management, instead of dealing with real problems that have forced miners to use an extreme measure for realising their rights, such as hunger strikes, fabricate political accusations and heavier quality against strikers, foreign and unremitted even by dictatorial regimes. At the same time, KMDLNj shows deep indignation for the menaxen's efforts to discredit strikers through pictures as if they are not on hunger strike. It's not the first time Trepca's miners go on strike, but it's like they've previously encountered neglect by their employer. Surprisingly, the opinion response is not in line with the seriousness of the situation in the fact that this strike is being attributed to another quality by Kosovo institutions in an attempt to evade responsibility.

KMDLNY strongly condemns the Trepca company's management decision as trying to choke and prevent a unionist action through the intimidation of those who are strikers. For starters have chosen a group of five employees and if the strike does not end then measures will be taken against others until the strike is broken. KMDLNY supports the right to unionist action, as human rights and legal rights, and in this context strongly opposes the firing of five strikers seeking concrete responsibility for the management that has made this decision in full opposition to human rights. KMDLNu warns that for any consequence that the strikers may eventually have, in terms of health and material, the address of responsibility will be the management of the Trepca Company and those who have appointed this management.

KMDLNI calls on Kosovo's Parliament deputies to respond more loud and more strongly to this strike ignored by institutions, not excluding even the Parliament, so that this situation can be overcome. It counters their responsibility.
