EU Office chief Thomas Szunyog has reacted after the decision by the president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani not to decree Blerim Isufan for chief state prosecutor. Szunyog has said that considering President Osmani's statement to the chief prosecutor, it stresses the great need for a selection process in domestic positions [...]
Szunyog has said that taking into account President Osmani's statement to the chief prosecutor underscores the great need for a process of selection of positions within the merit-based justice system, which is transparent and fair.
He has called on Kosovo institutions to firmly maintain the highest principles and standards of rule of law in choosing the chief state prosecutor, which, according to Szunyog, has been delayed.
Taking into account the president's statement to the chief state prosecutor, underlines the critical need for a process of credit-based, transparent and fair selection for positions within the justice system. I call on the authorities of #Kosovo to firmly maintain the highest principles and standards of rule of law in the late election of the chief state prosecutor.”, he has written.
While taking note of the President's station on the Chief State Prosecitor, I emphasise the critical need for a merit-based, transparent, and face selection processes for locations with the Justice system. (1/2)
