German MP Gunther Krichbaum has commented on the recent decisions of the SPAK, where with the move “presentation “is former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, while his groom is behind bars on the privatisation issue of the “Partizan” complex.
At a news conference in Albania, Krichbaum said the SPAK is doing its job, while statements of politicisation are absurd.
“Reforms are made, not for the benefit of Berlin or Paris, but for the country itself to benefit from the fruits of EU membership one day. The SPAK is committed to fighting crime and corruption.
I would defend myself against all attacks that would emerge from the political class against SPAK. The SPAK is doing its job in the interest of citizens and the EU. All attacks would be considered forbidden. SPAK will have our support. SPAK has integrity workers. SPAK is not politicised.
These attacks are wrong and absurd. Immunity is not a privilege for appointed parliamentary, but it protects parliament's functionality. Immunity guarantees and protects the functionality of parliament, but not deputies in the face of law. It can be suspended by authorities when there are such procedures” he said.
He also talked about Bundestag's conditions for advancing Albania towards the EU. “if you know we've defined 15 conditions, so far the majority has been fulfilled, but there are few points, for example, electoral reform. The media law is another condition that must be met. And reform in administration” he said.
