Ymer in an interview for Online Economy added that the power America has as guarantor of the process is evidence that the epilog will be the final agreement in Kosovo's interest.
“S first is a very good news that the United States of America has a much more intense commitment because it is a great security for Kosovo on two plains. The first is that during this recent history of Kosovo, it has been the United States that has mostly helped the Republic of Kosovo, especially in its most difficult stages. The second is that the United States with the power it has is the only guarantee that dialogue can be completed and the agreement can be reached, which is in the interest of Kosovo”, he said.
As for Chollet's statements, that “Association is an urgent issue on the agenda of dialogue and that the US does not support something that resembles the Republika Srpske in Bosnia”, Ymer said this statement is a security for Kosovo, since this type of association would not prevent the functioning of the country.
He called for the country's government to have more confidence in this process and to start working with greater security.
“sometimes said the US representative, especially recently that the US supports the foundation of the Association, which takes into account remarks given by the Constitutional Court. In this direction, I think this is a security for the Republic of Kosovo, that this association is not something that would prevent the functioning of the Republic and somehow damage its sovereignty. In this direction I think that the Government of Kosovo should have more faith in this process and enter with a little greater security, and be especially active on this topic, which is obviously a sensitive topic and has been discussed for a long time in Kosovo”, he said.
Ymer added that association has become urgent due to the recent situations created in the country's north, citing 2013 when the agreement was signed, EO reports.
According to him, the association is being seen as currency, quotas in relation to recognition that should come from Serbia.
The biggest problem I see here is that as long as before what happened in the north, the association was seen as a kind of currency, quantification in relation to the recognition that should come from Serbia, now the association has been made urgent because of the creation of the institutional vacuum in the northern part of Kosovo, which brings us back, so there has been a situation in 2013 when the Association of Serb majority municipalities was signed as an agreement and because of the need to integrate Serbs of the northern part of Kosovo's political and political life. Even now the same is being repeated to us because of our mistakes”, he said.
