The news has revealed the Kosovo Football Federation through a post in its official Facebook profile.
This enables young football players, especially those 18-21 years old, who have so far had extremely little space in official matches.
“Starting in the new edition of 2023/24 in Kosovo football, the U21 League will also launch races. The FFK's EC, at the last meeting, has made the decision to organise this league, while its share will be the Superlea's teams.
The purpose of this league is for football players of this age, who are having trouble finding space on the first team, to be given the opportunity to stay in shape, develop and to show their values consistently so that they can prepare to be part of the first team.
Early professional experience is the key to success in football, and therefore the existence of the U21 League will be welcome for footballers under the age of 21, because the percentage of minutes played by them in Albi Mall Superliga is largely small.
The WFK will enable teams to include two footballers in this league until the age of U23, which for various causes (such as injuries or fall forms) stay away from the first team. Meanwhile, fair play will have even younger players than U21, if that makes clubs reasonable.
The FFK's EC had earlier decided that if clubs are interested in starting B League (where they would play footballers who do not find enough space in the first teams), but since only the Balkans had expressed interest in that league, it failed to implement.
However, this time the U21 League is binding for all Superleague clubs, and as such it will start to implement from the new edition. Therefore, the NFFK requires clubs to start preparing for U21 teams as early as possible because the creation of this league also, according to field experts, is highly valued for the further progress of our Superliga and football in general”.
