German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Germany would not send fighter planes to Ukraine.
This statement comes after Kiev stepped up calls for more advanced weapons from the West to help repel Russia's occupation.
Scholz agreed last week to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allow other European countries to send theirs, after weeks of intense debate and increased pressure from Allies
Following that decision, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pesckov said Western decisions, including the delivery of tanks, are creating a highly tense “situation in Europe and the world in general.
Ukraine has been searching for tanks for months to fight Russian forces that have started the war in this country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes about 300 tanks would help defeat Russia.
Poland, Spain, Finland, the Netherlands and Norway and several other states are expected to send their tanks Leopard to Ukraine.
