Vuciq for talks with Kosovo: Better negotiate 100 years than fighting one day

Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic, as he spoke to the United Nations Organisation about the dialogue process and reports with the Republic of Kosovo, has said dialogue is the only alternative and dialogue towards finding an agreement should continue even if it lasts 100 years. Vuciq has said he better negotiate [...]

Vuciq has said it is better to negotiate for 100 years than to be fought for one day. The head of the Serbian state has said that “we never dream to return to the paths of conflict and bloodshed”, writes RTS.

It's a difficult process, it's been going on for more than ten years, but we don't see an alternative. It's better to negotiate for a hundred years than to fight for one day. I am convinced that we will reach a mutually acceptable solution based on compromise, because this is absolutely the only way to achieve our goal, which is to establish long-term peace, as a precondition for a prosperous life for Serbs and Albanians in our region. We have already exhausted all other options and, at least in terms of Serbia, we never dream of going back into the paths of conflict and bloodshed”, Vuciq said.

He says the Balkan region cannot afford another conflict.

I believe that in this effort we will have the will and understanding of our international partners, because they too know very well that some previous decisions of their governments were bad and did not function for the future of our region and world peace. Belgrade is leading this process under very complex circumstances in which there is a hybrid war and a dirty campaign on the part of international opinion against our country in various areas. It is enough to remind you of world media quotations and statements that Serbia will attack its neighbours and that this poses a threat to regional stability, of course it never happened, and there was only one in the range of numerous lies against the Republic of Serbia”, the president of Serbia has added among other things.
