The talk about the situation in the EU is the most important annual moment when the head of the EC before the MEPs presents the situation in EU states and institutions. It is the first time in history that the EU <x0);x1 -- maintained in conditions of war on the European continent -- while von der Leyen was wearing the colors of the Ukrainian flag: blue and yellow.
Ursula von der Leyen said in favour of forming the European Political Community, noting that we should draw other European continent states beyond the membership process.
Now is the time to invest in the force of democracy. This job starts with the basic group of partners who think like us, with our friends in every democratic nation in the world. We see the world in the same eye. And we must mobilise our collective power”, she has said, adding that the quickest way to expand the rule of democracy is to strengthen ties with democratic countries on the European continent, RTK reports.
The European Political Community is the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. According to the French proposal in this community there will be all states of the continent that want to join common values. It is also planned for the countries of the region to be part of this community.
For this initiative, European leaders have discussed the June meeting. concrete discussions on the formation of the European Political Community will take place at the summit, which will be held in Prague on 6 October. In this summit, leaders from Western Balkan countries will, among other things, participate.
