Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama in his address to the UN General Assembly has spoken about Kosovo and the trial of former President Hashim Thaci in The Hague.
Rama spoke of Dick Marty's report that led to the establishment of the Special Court, citing also Albania's resolution delivered to the Council of Europe for its collapse in the absence of evidence.
The report has been shocking”, Rama said, adding that it was never proven in Kosovo or anywhere else for organ trafficking charges.
The Kosovo Special Court has been established on the basis of that report and has arrested Kosovo President Hashim Thaci without execution. He waited a year in custody until the indictment was formally established. All of you, imagine for a moment, your president or prime minister, the leaders of your countries, to be taken into custody in a third country for a whole year without an official indictment by a body officially established and sponsored by a community of democratic countries”.
Rama mentioned that even in Thaci's indictment, no word has anything to do with what Marty has claimed.
“Full Financial”, Rama told Marty's report.
We will not give up on the truth and honor those who gave their lives for freedom and independence”.
Rama said the brutal genocide of Srebrenica and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo will never be forgotten.
“Taking responsibility will continue and we must double our efforts to guarantee it in the” courts.
