Kosovo is grateful for NATO's continued support in maintaining stability and peace”, President Osmani has stressed at the meeting with Secretary Stoltenberg.
According to Osmanit, Kosovo's strategic goal remains membership in the Euro-Atlantic community.
Osmani at the meeting with the NATO chief said membership in the European Union and NATO would contribute to increased security and stability in the region and named membership in this organisation, Kosovo's state priority, as a precondition for ensuring peace in the region and promoting and protecting common values.
Furthermore, the president has stressed that this step should precede Kosovo's involvement in the Partnership for Peace. In this context, he cited the fact that the Kosovo Security Force, which is developing in line with NATO standards, would enable Kosovo an active role within regional and global security.
As for Russia's aggression in Ukraine, Osmani said Kosovo has condemned Putin's unprohibited fight against Ukraine and that it is fully in line with EU and US sanctions against Russia.
In this direction, Osmani has stressed the need for co-ordination of democratic states in the region with NATO to ensure a safe environment and to prevent the destabilising actions of Russia and its satellites.
