The strike in education will continue next week, if there is no movement by the Government and the Ministry of Education. That's what the SBASK chairman, Beftman Jasharaj, said.
Jasharaj said that due to the communications they have had with the mayors of union and university levels, the stance remains the same as for the strike to continue if no solution is offered even this weekend.
It was based on the online meeting we had last night, because we hold meetings every day with the heads of the municipal levels of our Union, but also of Universities, from the reports that they gave in communication with municipality membership and Universites their position remains the same. They demand from the Government to offer acceptable solutions to our demands on the contrary, they claimed the strikers remain in their stance, that if there is no movement during this weekend the strike will continue”.
Tuja Jasharaj said there is no communication indicator from neither the Government nor the Ministry of Education.
There is currently no indication of communication with the Government and the Ministry of Education. At our meeting with the prime minister, we made it open for us to meet and told him that we are ready every second, every day even on weekends, to meet in order to find solutions for our demands that this situation be overcome. On their side we don't even have an invitation, but the situation is like that, we've been holding a meeting every day with the mayors of union and university levels. We've debated the situation, we hope that people of good will will influence that we have meetings, we have dialogue and not monologues, and that we jointly engage in solving the legitimate requirements not only of the SBASK, but these are also requests of civil servants and of all union federations that are part of the BSPK”, Blic newspaper reported.
Yesterday, the third week that teachers are on general strike was closed. Although several meetings have been held between representatives of the SBASK and Government, the same have not moved from their positions.
The SBASK requires an additional 100 euros in salaries, while the government is arguing that the addition has been made in the last supporting package that is, at the value of 50 euros.
Although the strike continues for three weeks several schools in Gjakova, Fushe-Kosovo and Podujevo have broken it down by starting the lesson.
