Bolton wants US to be directly involved in Kosovo- Serbia

With all due respect for our friends in Europe, their leadership has not yet helped to have a conclusion. And yet, I don't underestimate how difficult it is to resolve this dispute. But when I was at the White House, I thought that with the participation of people like Tony Blair who encouraged the possibility of Serbia and Kosovo finding a way to solve it, I was certainly prepared to see the United States involved. I don't think we should leave it entirely in the hands of the European Union when it comes to a future that clearly involves people, the Balkans, but also US security interests in Europe, as well as the European Union”, Bolton said in an interview for Klan Kosova.
Bolton has also commented on Kosovo's chances for NATO membership, where he has said the only real perspective of peace is NATO's borders around the countries.
I think it's a good thing to prepare the app. I think we should see places in Europe that haven't been attached yet. NATO as potential members. It was certainly a momentum decision in both Finland and Sweden to give up not only neutrality after World War II, but also long-standing policies to join NATO. They did so because they concluded that the only real prospect for peace was to have NATO's borders around them. And I think that in the remaining states in Europe that are not members for one reason or another, this should be an incentive to try to meet the preconditions for NATO membership. And that means, probably most importantly, to be at peace with their neighbours”, he said.
He has added that reaching the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia during the Biden administration is to the advantage of all.
If the solution to these continuing differences can be achieved during the Benden administration, I think this is to the advantage of everyone. I certainly hoped that we would be able to do that during Trump's administration. It didn't happen. But this is not a political issue for the United States, not really. It is an issue of how to achieve the most favourable conditions for peace and stability in Europe. And I think both political parties here would support an agreement that the parties themselves would be able to reach”, Bolton said.
