Things are simple, everyone wants to lose weight quickly, although most know fast diets yield short - term results, but despite that, many submit to the promise of <x0 kg less in 14 days”. Nutritionists explain what fast diets do to the long-term plan.

Fast diets are known differently as total diet replacement programmes (TDR) and include reducing calories to an extremely low level so that a large calories deficit can be reached in a short period of time.

They are known to be unstable, even for several days, and they can often cause unexpected long - term health consequences. But what does dieting really mean? Plans that teach you how to lose weight in a week or lose about six pounds a month have never been more popular, and two nutritionists talk to Womenandhome about fast diets, if they function and what effect they have on their bodies.

What's a crash diet?

Nutritionist Jenna Hope for Womenandhome explains that improper diet means drastically changing your eating habits for a very short time, such as prior to an important event.

In some cases, diets require that a person abstain from solid foods and replace them with liquid meals and juices, since they naturally contain much less calories.

In practice, fast diet looks like the Fast 800 diet, which encourages one person to initially reduce its intake to only 800 calories a day, compared to 2,000 calories a average woman needs.

Detoxification of fluids, which promotes replacing food with a variety of alternative fluids, a 7-day plan of detoxification and military diet, are just some of the known diet of impacts that claim to allow people to lose weight quickly.

Does a fast diet make weight loss possible?

Nutritionist Rob Hobson explains that the loss of weight on a heavy diet is only because the person consumes very little calories. It's actually a calories deficit, which is the basis of weight loss.

Without this higher ratio of calories used in regard to calories taken, weight loss is simply not possible. However, this can be accomplished with a much healthier approach than harsh diets. It's better to use a more porn approach for a longer time to lose weight, because the lost weight is less likely to be regained”, Hope says.

Hope adds that the slower the loss of weight, the more likely it is that wholesome exercise and diet will become a part of the lifestyle.

This, explains South Carolina Medical University research, means that you will be able to lose weight more easily in the future if that is your goal and even avoid the birth of a child. You will also drastically reduce the risk of serious diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes, which reduce the risk of early death.

An unpleasant diet promotes an unhealthy attitude toward food that can lead to serious problems such as eating disorders. But there are actually a number of reasons why this approach to weight loss is likely to fail”, says Hobson, and these are some of the side effects of severe diets.

As expected, this is the main factor that causes collision diets to fail early on. “You may be able to afford it in the initial stages of diet, but over time, continued hunger can lead to a return. In some cases, this may cause overindulgence episodes, which is characteristic of the non-yo” child, Hobson says.

He adds that this type of diet can also affect your mood as you face hunger, restrictions and possible nutrients, which are all more likely to lead to overindulgence, according to a study by North Carolina University.

Capable

“Low intake of calories can also lead to low fiber consumption, which in turn may contribute to changes in bowel movements and an increasing risk of consertion,” explains Hope.

Food Lack

The sense of a low - calories diet could put you at risk of nutrients, because you are less likely to take all the nutrients you need”, says Hope. Hobson adds that this would lead to signs of a lack of nutrients such as low iron levels and lack of B and magnesium vitamins.

“The drastic reduction of food by removing certain food groups could lead to nutrients that can affect health in many ways”, Hobson says. He explains that low iron levels can lead to fatigue and fatigue and cause low moods, while lack of vitamin B and magnesium can also affect moods and sleep. Low calcium intake can also be harmful to bone density.

The climax of all of this, according to Hope and Hobson, makes it very difficult to achieve any health goals, whether weight loss or something. The current effect of such shortcomings depends on the longer term in extreme diets, but the effects can be felt even if the diet is performed in the short term”, Hobson says.

Slower Metabolism

When it comes to weight loss, slow metabolism is the last thing you want. As a study by the National Institute of Health and Medical Sciences explains, metabolism is responsible for a variety of body processes, including the degree that calories burn at rest and training.

When the body feels threatened by low energy, it can start to store energy. As such, this may contribute to a slower metabolism,” explains Hope.

But this will not only affect the ability to lose fat, but the body will begin to break down the muscle mass for energy because it lacks energy. This could also contribute to a decrease in metabolicism, because muscle measures have a higher energy demand than fat tissue”, says Hope.

Worried hormone levels

One of the long-term disturbing effects of severe diets is increasing famine hormones. The fastest “Diets are simply unstable and can destroy hormones”, says Hope. You may lose weight successfully at first, but at some point you will stop because your body will fight to prevent hunger.

Research by the Christian-Albrechts University has shown that we have a certain point of weight, which is the weight that your body is programmed to achieve under the influence of certain factors, such as genetics, hormones, lifestyle and environment.

One of the ways in which the body fights this hunger is by lowering the levels of leptin (complement hormone) and increasing the horninum (hormon of hunger), which Hobson says can make it more difficult for some people to carry weight in the future.

But evidence shows that this is not only a short-term side effect. As a study by Melbourne University describes, severe restrictions can seriously spoil your hormone levels, which may make you feel constantly hungry.. The study examined 50 overweight people, or obelsis, who ate between 500 and 550 calories a day for 10 weeks. Participants lost weight during this period but regained half of their lost weight, and at the end of the study, all participants had apparently fewer leptin and peptide hormones YY, which is involved in the formation of saturation signals.

They also had more of the hornet and polypéptide braking stomach, which could cause hunger. This meant that participants felt more hungry than before, even a year after the study was completed.

Thus, regardless of the event or situation, falling diet simply is not worth the possible short - term concerns and future health problems, especially when it is fully possible to lose weight safely for a longer period of time. If you need help to lose weight, talk to your doctor and dietologist.
