According to officials -- based on intelligence sources -- the United States believes most of the planned counterattacks will include a combination of land and air operations.
On Monday, Ukraine indicated the shares are under way.
Ukraine's “Armed Forces have launched offensive actions in several directions in the southern front towards the liberation of occupied territory”, Natalia Humenick, a spokeswoman from the Ukrainian Army, told CNN.
“All details will be revealed after the fulfillment of the” operation, she added.
The plans come as Russia's war in Ukraine has spent six months, with US estimates that Russia has been able to shift fewer units to fronts than originally thought, according to an American official. /Periscopi/
