The new aid package will be worth 500 million crores or 46.75 million dollars.
Andersson, after meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, told reporters that her government would also offer a 1 billion-strong aid package. This will be military and civilian aid to Ukraine.
Kuleba said Sweden will offer its country weapons like the target and grenades.
As long as the war continues, we will ask for more weapons”, Kuleba said.
“Every euro, every bullet, every grenade is important”, he added.
The Swedish prime minister did not provide details about the military package, but said it would be similar to previous aid, which has included opposing weapons, soldiers protection equipment and mine-clearing equipment.
“We will continue to support Ukraine as long as the war continues”, Andersson said.
The civil assistance includes buying Ukrainian wheat, which will then be sent to countries facing food shortages. That, according to Sweden, is to support the Ukrainian economy.
Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24th, Western states have offered military and civilian assistance to Kiev. / REL/
