Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stolteberg, has also talked with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, following tensions that arose in northern Kosovo.
Stoltenberg said all divisions should be resolved in the facilitated dialogue by the European Union, until he reiterated that in the event of instability, NATO troops in Kosovo would intervene.
“I spoke with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, about tensions in northern Kosovo. All sides should engage constructively in the EU-brokered dialogue and resolve all differences through diplomacy. KFOR is ready to intervene if stability is threatened, given its mandate by the UN”.
On August 2nd, Stoltenberg also held a conversation with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and delivered a similar message until he announced that he is in close contact with both Pristina and Belgrade.
Spock to #SerbiaPresident @avuccic about tensions in nowhere #Kosovo. All as we must enter the EU-mediated dialogue, and make differences through diplomas. @NATO KFOR Stands ready to intervene if stabilize is jetcarded, based on its @UN Years.
