The Albanians were detained two days ago and are part of a 12-member gang, with 4 of them escaping police prosecution.
The gang in question has cultivated some 11,500 marijuana plants scattered on plantations between Castellote and Beceite.
Also seized was a pistol firearm, and that is why they are accused of crimes against public health, cultivation and drug trafficking and participation in criminal organizations.
In addition to marijuana plants, agents found several tents nearby on various plantations where gang members evidently lived.
We remember that according to Spanish media, the 8 arrested are men of Albanian nationality, aged 30 to 50, without criminal precedents, who lived on the same plantations in very miserable conditions. They don't speak Spanish and they only socialized with each other.
Spanish police are still searching for other members of the gang, who are still on the run and who may have disappeared in nearby Catalonia or Valencia.
