Luljeta Demolli of the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies, in Frontal of T7 on Tuesday, called for strong participation in this protest, as he said this “is the only way to say to institutions that no longer tolerate”. She demanded that the heads of institutions not join the protest.
We did not invite [President Vjosa Osmani]. And it's good not to be joined because institutions are in a position to render accountability. The whole state has to work where it belongs. We're on our way”, she said.
Because they're putting us in a bad position. They're coming as ordinary citizens. A minister is not a simple citizen; he has responsibilities, accountability. A minister needs to go to the door to meet us because he's not a simple citizen, he's wearing the minister's clothing, it's a big responsibility on him, Demolli stressed.
She said that “don't need people to mourn”.
Protest organised by the QKSJ Civil Society Organisations, Y for Thinking and Religious Action IHR, QIPS, QICA and CEL Kosovo start at 12:00 in “Zahir Pajaziti” Square in Pristina.
The protest contains demands for state protection and security for girls and women; fair treatment of women violence cases, as well as legalisation of the use of irritating gas (pepper spray) for self-defence. The latter, organisers described it as the main requirement.
