Patients are facing drug shortages almost every day. This is mostly felt by cancer patients whose therapy is more expensive to secure.
They even say that often in the absence of such free therapy, they owe or buy thousands of euros or provide it from the family of a patient who has not survived this disease.
Blerim Ademi has been treated at the Institute of Oncology for a year. He says about RTK that during this time, for his illness there is a constant shortage of drugs, the price of which is quite high.
Also difficult for him was the possibility of providing medicine - in one case - that he received therapy from a patient who did not survive.
Oncologist Faton Sermajaj says about RTK that currently supply of drugs to the essential list is about 85%, of them mainly missing ordinary cytostatics.
“I constantly have problems with drugs that have a higher cost for themselves because they have a higher price and the moment these drugs are introduced on the essential list because of their high cost, they are only involved for a certain number of patients because there is no way that all patients are involved”, he said.
Meanwhile, the University Clinical Hospital Service Directorate explains that they are working intensively to draft the unique protocols under which the treatment of patients of the oncological institute will be made. Their written answer also states that the description of therapy will be made
Only through medical consortiums.
The number of patients a day at the Oncology Institute is up to 200, which is considered high by doctors compared with the population.
According to oncologists, the supply of essential list drugs is about 85%, but ordinary cytostatics are missing
