German MP Peter Beyer has met the European Union's Emissar for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Miroslav Lajcak in Vienna.
Beyer says the European Union should change Europe's fundamental idea and that it is clear the Western Balkans belong to the EU.
“Putin has shaken global order with its conquest. The EU has been forced overnight to finally become a geopolitical actor and we have to change the basic idea of Europe”.
“This should also have implications for EU enlargement policy: Far from a simple convergence expansion, towards geopolitical integration. It's clear: The Western Balkans belong to us! ” wrote Beyer on Facebook.
