KFOR units, on patrol in northern Kosovo, have joined the mission EULEX.
That is how it has been made known in a written answer to RTV Dukagjini, from the KFOR mission in Kosovo.
These measures are taken according to them to enable rapid response in the event of a possible transition to the situation.
“To raise awareness of the situation, it has increased its presence in the vicinity of the JARIJNJ and BRNJAK crossing points, has set up several traffic control points and increased patrol in the area along with multinational Specialised Karabinier Unit personnel and the EU Mission for Rule of Law. (EULEX). These measures are designed to enable KFOR to respond quickly to any security challenge, in line with its UN mandate”, they say.
In KFOR's response, it also says the commander of Kayari has regular contact with Kosovo security organisations and also with the Serbian defence chief.

In response to KFOR's peacekeeping mission, this NATO-led mission reportedly continues the daily implementation of its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 “to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo”.
