Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo is among the countries with the lowest inflation figures, compared to developed European countries. He said Sunday that prices in Kosovo are continuing to rise, but saving is the best way to overcome the crisis.
“With inflation we are among the countries with the lowest figures, compared to the developed European countries, in terms of the economic support we are giving to the energy sector, according to the Financial Times, Kosovo is the fourth country in Europe. This support is in some forms”, Kurti said on Sunday at the General Council of Vetevendosje Movement.
According to Kurt, citizens should not be pessimistic but have economic realism, and save because in times of crisis, according to Kurti, savings is patriotism.
“Prices are growing, it's good to save. So not pessimism, but economic realism. Saving in this time of crisis is patriotism. Those who say don't save want to be robbed”, Kurti said.
We do not need presumptuousness, ministers in the Government of Kosovo are not chiefs, but leaders. Modesty is the quality we need, coupled with the determination we have. The ministers know there will be changes. Work results will be taken to base.
He claimed that COVID's pandemic-19, post-pandemia, the war in Ukraine, sanctions against Russia, tensions between China and Taiwan, as well as the climate crisis in the world, has affected the growth of the economic crisis.
“We're small economies, but we're used to difficulties. We'll make it through helping each other. The government will commit to soften the economic pain it will feel the most sensitive part of society. There will constantly be developmental approaches to provide foreign direct investment. In the geopolitical and geoeconomic context, we will be in an athletic and European direction. Corruption has no place in us. Actors who try to exploit the crisis will face difficulties. We'll get closer economically to Albania. Our social policies are not measured by anyone's whims. The resurrection package has reached 7 percent gross domestic production. We are the government that has mostly undertaken social policy, more than any other government”, he said.
