Taiwan's Defence Ministry wrote on Twitter shortly before noon (1900 local time Sunday): “We condemn PLA for endangering our region's peace and security through reports of military training.
The Taiwanese armed forces monitor activities around our region and respond to any professional situation to protect our country. ”
The recent rise in tensions comes several days after a similar trip by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi prompted an angry response from China.
This week's two-day trip, warned by senior members of Congress, prompted China to repeat its pledge that it would prepare for war “on Taiwan.
