Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce: If the current is expensive, renewed product prices are expected

Following KESCO's request to the Energy Regulatory Office for Expensitation of Electricity, the chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Economics, Lulzim Rafuna, has warned that if it is planning to raise electricity rates for businesses, the prices of products in the country will go up even further. Energy prices may increase [...]
The price of energy could be increased again this year, as the Energy Regulatory Office has accepted an application 9 August for extraordinary review of the maximum allowed revenues for the Universal Service provider, KESCO.
The new chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Rafuna, has talked about business demands and reforming OEK.
Moreover, it stresses that OEK will be a home of businesses that will protect business interests in the good of the country's economy and motivate foreign investors in our country.
“As fear or as a concern of the businesses that have presented, there is also the warning of rising electricity tariffs, even though we as the Economic Ode have not yet received any documents... As I pointed out for oil that has directly impact on the production process, so the current has directly impacted production, because production is interconnected in the electricity process, so it's true that in February there's not been an increase in electricity fees for businesses, so we expect to have a document from the ZRRE, whether businesses are involved or only citizens involved. If the current is expensive for businesses that will undoubtedly have an effect on the price of products, because the current has an impact on the process of production”, Rafuna points out for Kosova Prees.
Rafuna, who was elected head of OEK weeks ago, says business demands are also in terms of rule of law.
He emphasises that businesses have reasonable and legal requirements to help the Government as a result of pandemic, but also of major inflation.
Our <x0). It's possible that the government in some ways can help businesses. I have expectations that we, together with the government, the assembly, why not with the presidency, can discuss together how we can help our businesses that they've just been through this crisis”, he says.
The former finance minister, OEK says, will represent business requirements in the best possible way to approach domestic and international institutions.
Kosovo's economic watch will undergo a new re-organization, which corresponds to the demands of time, with the reality we have today, of economic, social development, but also the political development of our state. Therefore, the Kosovo Economic Oda will be a business home where it will represent business requirements in the best way it should be with the country's institutions, as well as international institutions. It will be a home which will protect business interests for the good of the country's economy and for the benefit of motivating foreign investors in our country. Also OEK, under my leadership, will be a constructive, transparent and sincere partner for the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, so together we can help develop the country's business and economic development. So we have a big job reforming OEK”, Rafuna says.
As for business-government dialogue, Rafuna has no doubt that there will be co-operation with the country's institutions for the interests of state, economy and economics for economic development.
I have no slightest doubt that we will have cooperation. Our co-operation is related to the interest of the state, the state economy, then to the interest of our businesses in our country. If we deal well with businesses we have today in Kosovo, this will also be the best possible call and motivation for foreign investors to come to invest in our country. Since the first day I have declared that I will be a constructive partner of the government, the Parliament and the Presidency, and I will be consistent with the demands of our country's economic development interest, he says.
And in terms of economic growth, Rafuna has said that this rate is expected to be lower this year compared to a year ago.
