The European Union has come up with a response a day after the situation in northern Kosovo was tense due to the Government's decision to implement license reciprocity with license plates and with documents issued by Serbia.
The EU reiterates that the idea for suspending the decision on license plates and documents has been of European High Representative Joseph Borell. After that, the EU press office announces, the parties have been invited to a mediated meeting in Brussels.
After Kosovo's admission of Joseph Borrell and the US's request to postpone the planned measures regarding license plates and ID cards, provided all barriers are removed, the EU invited both sides to meet in Brussels to discuss the road before”, it said in the communique.
Prior to that, Brussels rebuked the government that “took unilateral action”, but also Serbs who blocked roads.
The “all involved should remain calm and any uncoordinated and unilateral action that endangers stability and security on the ground and prevents the freedom of movement of all citizens should stop immediately”, the EU report said.
Earlier, Radio Free Europe reported calling in sources than Mr. Borrell has invited Kurt and Vuchqi for a meeting in Brussels, but Prime Minister Kurti said that so far, he does not have such an invitation. However, Kurt said that statement, about 1: 00 p.m. at the media conference with Minister Svechla, and so far, the invitation may have arrived.
