Last month's tensions in the country's north have accelerated the meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, within the dialogue between states in Brussels.
Returning to the dialogue table between the heads of state from Kosovo and Serbia is taking place after more than a year of blockades of this level of meetings, so RTK's envoy to Brussels, Gjeracina Tuhina, says this meeting will more serve to reduce tensions created recently, and is not expected to have certain points on the agenda.
But, after that, Kurti's Vuciqi meetings are expected to take place every month in Brussels, that if the plan that EU mediator has in the process is realised, Miroslav Lajcak.
“Sic agrees, Lajcak learns from September onward to meet regularly, at least once a month leaders here in Brussels, not to discuss specific points, but to discuss what is called a global situation, more about the comprehensive and legally binding agreement Kosovo and Serbia”, has said of RTK.
Tuhina, who is always close to processes that take place at the European helm, says Thursday's meeting cannot end with any concrete results, but, according to her, for the EU, it would succeed if they did not dominate the tensions between the parties.
Tuhina has indicated that the Kosovo prime minister, during the evening, is expected to hold meetings with EU minister for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, and American envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar, whom Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq had earlier fulfilled.
RTK correspondent, who also closely attended the NATO chief's conference with Prime Minister Kurti, said the government chief confirmed there that Kosovo would not back down from the decision to implement agreements dealing with free movement.
