Today, some 4400 persons and 1165 vehicles arrived on three ferry boats. Two more ferryboats with approximately 2,500 travelers are expected to arrive in the evening.
Meanwhile, Sunday is expected to bring another influx into the entrance of travellers, mainly Albanians living in Italy, as it precedes the Festival of Virgin Mary's (Ferragosto), a typical Italian holiday associated with a holiday period in the neighbouring country.
After this weekend, with the summer season finished, the influx to Durres will turn into the opposite direction of movement.
The last Sunday marked the highest number of travelers to enter the country through the port of Durres in one day, about 10,000 people, while in July an estimated 85 thousand people entered the country through this border point. / TCh
