Four people were injured, including three children.
The news was made known by the region's governor, quoted by Kiev Independent.
The Ukrainian nuclear power plant Zaporizhja, occupied by Russian forces, the largest in Europe, is “completely out of control”, says the director general IAEA, the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Gross.
“There is a catalog of things that should never happen in any nuclear power plant”, Grossi underlined, adding that “situata is very fragile. Any nuclear safety principle has been violated in one way or another and we cannot allow this to continue”.
