Both the president and Sri Lanka's prime minister have resigned after protesters attacked the government's district in Columbus for the worst economic crisis that has ever hit Sri Lanka, writes Sky Nesa following Periscope.
Rajapapasa appointed Wickreminghe as prime minister in May in hopes that the politician would use diplomacy and his contacts to revive a ruined economy. But people's patience waned after the lack of fuel, medicine, and gas only increased, and oil reserves ran out.
