Pristina also buys 31 new buses: But the price of the ticket will rise

Public Services Director in Pristina municipality Iliric Musliu, in an interview for KosovoPress, has indicated that in September procedures for the new fleet envisioning the arrival of 31 buses will begin. He also added that there will be 6-8 electrical buses, which will enable new lines.

 These 31 buses have recently made a difference in demand that we have a minibus inside the fleet. The goal is for these minibuss to operate in rural, periphery areas, where we have more demand from citizens, but at the same time there are many possibilities and potential to increase new lines. With the present fleet buses, it's impossible to say with the opera, that's why we've applied for the minibus. Also, within the new fleet, there will be 6-8 electrical buses that will be used in this area, in the central ring area, which is designed to be implemented, so before the procedure starts in September, we from the EURZH, have had meetings, discussions, where we have two requirements. The first request is to establish a new contract with a private operator, so from a private operator, in the same format as we have urban traffic, a fee per mile”, has declared for Kosova priss.

Musliu indicated that they have made calculations about ticket prices and have come up with results that are impossible to operate at the current price of derivatives, as within the EURZH requirement, it has been argued that they seek financial stability. Therefore, in September this increase in the ticket price of travellers per 10 cents, where the price will be from 40 cents to 50 cents.

 The second requirement is to expensive the ticket by 40 cents to 50 cents, which is actually the second requirement more sensitive, because we're facing a high price hike and a crisis, but these are the reasons why the BERZH has asked for an increase in ticket prices. Let's not forget, we still have a business plan which the BERZH, in co-ordination with urban traffic, and the municipality has been working with the arrival of the first fleet to come, as was then the situation about 1 euro per litre spent, that's the amount of derivatives, and that demand of expenses has doubled. That's why the price of oil went up”, Musliu follows.

He stressed that citizens are facing a price hikes everywhere, so he hopes to have their understanding. While, he told Kosovo Preress that new bus procedures will begin in September this year.

 We'll start procedures in September, then the procedure has several deadlines that are pre-lawed, so we can not very quickly accept the new fleet, but there will be a co-ordination between the central ring and the electrical buses, which was preceded by surgery within this ring. This task force is the same that works for traffic and furniture and all the changes in the ring in traffic, so it will bring about harmonisation of decisions aimed at having buses with opera and rings and at the same time these two services are available to the citizens”, He said.

According to him, with the arrival of new buses, this integrated ticket, weekly, monthly ticket, as well as annual, will be a company responsible only for public transportation.

Meanwhile, for the Musliu circuit ring, Musliu stressed that in September there will be a third test, which will be a day of work, where it is envisioned to be the final test before implementation.
