Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has promised that if he comes to power he will offer the possibility of every Kosovar obtaining Albanian citizenship or keeping both, as he says, to improve relations with Kosovo.
Berisha held a conversation Saturday with diaspora representatives and was asked about possible new relations between Albania and Kosovo if it comes back to power.
A first of the agreements to sign with the Government of Kosovo will be a citizenship agreement. Any Albanian on both sides of the border will have the right to choose citizenship that he wants or retain two citizenship”, Berisha said.
Albania's former president says he will give Kosovo what current Prime Minister Edi Rama is giving to Serbia.
