It is usually due to an electrical heart problem. Cardiac arrest differs from heart attack. Cardiac attack occurs when we have a breakdown in the blood supply of some of the heart's muscles, which can cause the electrical problems of the heart leading to cardiac arrest.
Cardiac arrest is a medical emergency. If not treated immediately, it causes immediate death. With a quick and proper medical intervention, survival is possible.
Symptoms
Symptoms of cardiac arrest are immediate and drastic:
A sudden loss of consciousness
Pulse lack
A lack of breath
Cardiac arrest often occurs without initial symptoms, but in some cases there are some symptoms that precede.
When should we consult a doctor?
If a person has frequent episodes of chest pain, rapid or disorderly heart rate, breathing, fainting, or feeling this condition, dizziness, or uncertainty, you should consult the doctor as soon as possible.
When the heart stops working on oxygenated (clean) blood may cause brain damage in just a few minutes. Death or permanent brain damage occur within 4-6 minutes. The time is crucial when a person loses consciousness and does not breathe, at this point he should definitely intervene.
How should we act?
Call 911 if you see someone who's lost consciousness and does not respond to any stimuli. Give cardiopulmonary massage (CPR). Check quickly if the uncompetitive person breathes. If you notice he doesn't breathe, start CPR. Press both hands quickly and heavily on the person's chest in a 100-120 numeric frequency, continue to perform cardiac massage until medical personnel are shown.
