Opposition parties in Kosovo criticise Prime Minister Albin Kurti for acting in opposition to the agenda Kosovo must have in dialogue with Serbia. The Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo call on Kurt to focus on reaching the final agreement with Serbia and to put aside technical dialogue.
Brooklyn Summit Failure, MP The PDK, Hajdar Beqa, views dialogue as prolonged.
He tells Kosovo Preress that Kosovo is continuing to waste time in dialogue and that it only benefits Serbia.
“Prime Minister Kurti must deal with dialogue for final agreements with mutual recognition, including other agreements. At the moment, I see that I am wasting time with technical dialogue and that it is in conflict with the agenda Kosovo must have. I do not see there are any forms or agendas for dialogue, but I think it is important that Kosovo close the issue with Serbia and have a mutual recognition between the two states. The government's focus I think should be on the big deal, but not to deal with technical agreements which have already been”, he says.
The criticism also addresses AAK deputy Time Kadrijaj, who tells Kosovo that the time has come for dialogue to pass to the political level, towards reaching the final agreement with mutual recognition.
“We have moved into a non-political dialogue, into a technical dialogue. Our government in this situation is dealing with the issue of license plates that very little matters and is not moving into political dialogue. We as the AAK have requested that we go into dialogue for a final, legally binding agreement respecting Kosovo's sovereignty and territorial integrity, where internal organisation, constitution and Kosovo laws --” is respected, she adds.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared during this week that Serbia is sabotaged dialogue. He found the neighbouring state guilty of delays in implementing the energy deal in the north.
Meanwhile, EU special envoy for dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said the summit, Kurti-Vuccic, could take place early August.
